Studio Memberships
Practice doesn’t make perfect, practice makes progress!
We offer memberships at our studio. Memberships are for potters who are looking to get their hands dirty, play with clay, and hone their skills in an independent work environment. Our studios are friendly, collaborative, and inviting. That said, members don’t receive any instruction. Rather, they have independent work time where they can hang out, swap ideas with new clay friends, listen to music, and work with their hands.
Members may work on their own making cycle schedules. They are not required to follow the class timelines that include restrictions on the completion of wet work or glaze deadlines.
The membership includes access to the studio during hours of operation except during classes.
Memberships are $175 a month.
We will bill monthly, and first payment will be taken on your first day of use. You can canel anytime or put your membership on hold if you know you will be away from the studio for a long period of time.
Experience & Requirements:
Membership is reserved for those who are aged 16 and over.
Those who are experienced working with clay & can work independently or if you have taken a multi-week class with us.
A studio orientation meeting for 30 min is required before you are allowed to use the facilities.
What’s available for all members:
Unlimited scheduled access to the studio during open studio hours
Use of studio tools, availability of glazes and underglazes.
Work must be fired at our studio and will be priced accordingly. We charge per piece. If you use the underglazes regularly, we will ask that you start purchasing your own so everyone can access our available stash.
Personal shelf space
Studio Specs:
12 Pottery wheels
2 class rooms, one for throwing and one for handbuilding
Over 50 glaze combinations for use
1 Slab roller
2 wall extruders and several hand extruder guns
4 Kilns fired to cone 06 bisque and cone 6 glaze
Molds, stamps and more!
Considerations:
As a member, you can use the studio as many times as you want during your member studio hours. At this time we are not scheduling ahead but you can contact us before you come in to see if all wheels are taken (as an example). Classes and workshops do take preference over space availability to members. If you want to come in during a class and use their room, please contact us ahead of time to see if there is a wheel or table available. We’d hate to waste your trip to the studio if nothing is available.
We will be closed for major holidays and prescheduled studio clean up days.
Clay is available for purchase from the studio. You can find it in our shop. If you would like to bring in other clays, we ask that you inform us so we are aware and can confirm that it is a clay we will fire. We carry clay from Clay Art Center. They vary from white body stoneware and porcelain to brown to speckled and will be rotating clays based on member requests as well.
You are welcome to bring your own personal tools, mid-fire glazes, slips and resists. We ask that they be stored on your shelf space or you bring them to and from the studio.
