Studio Memberships

Practice doesn’t make perfect, practice makes progress!

We offer memberships at our studio. Memberships are for potters who are looking to get their hands dirty, play with clay, and hone their skills in an independent work environment. Our studios are friendly, collaborative, and inviting. That said, members don’t receive any instruction. Rather, they have independent work time where they can hang out, swap ideas with new clay friends, listen to music, and work with their hands.

Members may work on their own making cycle schedules. They are not required to follow the class timeline that includes restrictions on the completion of wet work or glaze deadlines.

We have 2 membership options:

Membership 1: Just the Basics
This runs at $150 per month

This membership includes access to the studio during hours of operation except during classes.

Membership 2: All the Access
This runs at $225 per month

This membership is priced higher because it includes unlimited access to the studio operation except during classes, otherwise, that includes odd times of the day or night. You will receive a key code for as long as you are in this tier.

Experience & Requirements:

  1. Membership is reserved for those who are aged 16 and over.

  2. Those who are experienced working with clay & can work independently or if you have taken a multi-week class with us.

  3. A studio orientation meeting for 30 min is required before you are allowed to use the facilities.

What’s included for all members:

  1. Unlimited scheduled access to the studio during open studio hours

  2. Use of studio tools, availability of glazes and underglazes.

  3. Personal 18in x 16in shelf space

Studio Specs:

  1. 12 Pottery wheels

  2. 2 class rooms, one for throwing and one for handbuilding

  3. Over 50 glaze combinations for use

  4. 1 Slab roller

  5. 1 Extruder

  6. 4 Kilns fired to cone 6

Considerations:

  1. As a member, you can schedule and use the studio as many times as you want during your member studio hours. Classes and workshops do take preference over space availability to members. If you want to come in during a class and use their room, please contact us ahead of time to see if there is a wheel or table available. We’d hate to waste your trip to the studio if nothing is available.

  2. We will be closed for major holidays and prescheduled studio clean up days.

  3. Clay is available for purchase from the studio. You can find it in our shop. If you would like to bring in other clays, we ask that you inform us so we are aware and can confirm that it is a clay we will fire. We carry clay from Clay Art Center. They vary from white body stoneware and porcelain to brown to speckled and will be rotating clays based on member requests as well.

  4. You are welcome to bring your own personal tools, mid-fire glazes, slips and resists. We ask that they be stored on your shelf space or you bring them to and from the studio.
